Who Pays for What?
WEDDINGS – WHO PAYS WHAT?
Before you decide on a budget for your wedding, it is important to know who is going to pay for what. Create a detailed budget plan, and try to stick to it. Keep a planned account of your estimate and actual costs, and tot it up as you go along. Some costs will be over your estimate and some under. Plan on a 10% contingency for those unforeseen items. Couples today, particularly those who are older or second-timers, pay for their own wedding or both sets of parents contribute towards the costs. Some relatives and friends offer their help, particularly if they are skilled, say, in making cakes or invitations. However, there is still a tradition out there of splitting the costs. So who traditionally pays for what?
