Just situated off the M25 Staines is convenient for Heathrow Airport and the neighbouring towns of Ashford, Laleham, Egham, Sunbury and Shepperton. Staines has a compact town centre with a pedestrianised High Street.. Subject to regeneration in recent years there is now a new shopping complex called Two Rivers and a market in the pedestrianised High Street is held every Wednesday and Saturday. It is one of the largest and busiest street markets in Surrey. A moderately-sized shopping centre (Elmsleigh) is directly behind the High Street. As a result of modernisation, there are numerous hotels, bars, cafe's and restaurants.
