Civil Wedding Venues
If you live in England or Wales, since 1995 you have been able to marry in any Register Office or venues that are licensed to hold Civil weddings and Partnerships.
Choosing a wedding venue is one of the most importants decisions to make - because you want it to be just perfect! It will also determine what style or theme of wedding you may have. Some of the more popular civil wedding venues will be booked at least a year in advance.
When you go to view the venues, it is essential that you have a list of your requirements so you don't forget to ask important questions on the day. For example, how many people can be accomodated for a civil wedding? How many for sit down wedding receptions, or buffet wedding receptions? Can you have access to the venue the day before to decorate it? Are you allowed candles on the table? Can confetti be thrown inside or outside? Do you have exclusive use of the venue or will there be more than one event or wedding that day? Take a look at the room layout of your reception room, to ensure that there is sufficient space for a top table, if you require one. If you are not having a civil wedding at the venue, then consider the amount of time it will take to get from the church or registry office to the wedding reception venue. Is there an outdoor area you are allowed to use for your drinks reception? Lots of questions, so be sure to make a list before you go.

To ensure that you day is really special then choose venues that can offer exclusive use to you only so that your guests can really enjoy the wedding reception. Make sure that the venues have plenty of accommodation if your guests wish to stay overnight
